In engineering and operational contexts, efficiency is often represented as a percentage. But efficiency is also an imperative for progress and innovation. Being more efficient really has no limits because what may be 100% efficient today can only ever be measured against what the current solutions can provide to drive that efficiency. When new technology is introduced, efficiency has to be reassessed because technology is constantly evolving. Thus, what may have been viewed as 100% efficient a year ago may be considered considerably less efficient by today’s standards.

Doug Busch serves as Vice President & General Manager of Molex’s Optical Solutions Group, which now includes over 4,500 team members across 11 locations globally. In this role, Doug is responsible for the overall leadership of the global business including strategy, technology development, business development and operations.

During his 26 years at Molex, he has held positions of progressive responsibility in Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Global Account Management, General and Executive Management. He has also led several acquisitions to expand the capabilities of Molex. These roles have enabled him to serve in several Molex Divisions and work extensively with Molex’s customers and employees around the world.

Passionate about building organizational culture and developing talent, Doug has been a contributor to the Director and Manager Transformation Programs as well as supporting Molex’s Young Professionals Group. In addition to his roles at Molex, Doug serves on the boards of several academic, industrial and philanthropic organizations. In each of these roles, his passion is to combine learning and leadership, helping people build effective teams that deliver growth and innovation.

Married to Crystal and father of Claire and Jack, Doug also enjoys an adventurous family life and serving at his church. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornerstone University and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
